It seems like last year this time we were asking ourselves ‘Is Adele Still With Us?’ But a year later we have made it through another Adele era in all it’s glory.
Once again, Adele proves she is a force in this industry. According to the RIAA, Adele’s smash 25 reached diamond status Sept. 22, certifying it for 10 million in sales in the U.S. alone. This great accomplishment is the second time for the British powerhouse. Her last album 21 also sold over 10 million in two years. She was presented with the honor after her sold out six shows at Madison Square Garden.
Adele is the third woman in history to have two diamond albums in the US (after Britney Spears with 1999’s Baby One More Time and Oops I Did It Again in 2000) and Celine Dion with Falling InTo You (1996) and Let’s Talk About Love (1997).
