After over a decade in the game, Rihanna is set to receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at this Sunday’s VMA’s. She is expected to give a performance, much like her predecessors in years past, and we are praying to the Bajan Gods for a medley of her greatest hits. With the added bonus of Rihanna’s steadily improving performance and vocal styles as we’ve seen during this ANTI era, this should prove to be an interesting performance. Rumors around the awards show is that (not) her man Drake might make a cameo during Rihanna’s performance, as he was seen on her Snapchat during VMA rehearsals. We have high hopes for the ANTI singer, and either way it goes down Congratulations to the Bad Gal for this achievement.

What would the VMA’s be without the performances? With many legendary show stopping performances (like Beyonce & Blue Ivy’s 2011 “Love on Top” performance), and undeniable floppiness (like Britney’s tragic 2007 performance)  in the shows history, we are always excited to see what is brought to the stage at the VMA’s. This year could prove to be interesting, with a dangerous Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj, the glorious comeback Queen Britney Spears and an 4minute unfiltered Kanye West all slated to hit the stage during the show.

Bey prepared to see a lot of the Queen as Beyonce is nominated for 11 Awards at Sunday’s VMA’s. It will be baby hairs and lemonade for all in attendance as the Queen is expected to sweep this year for her visual album “Lemonade” and deliver a top secret performance during the show.

Also, there seems to be no host this year. Let’s hope there will be no unfunny awkward comedians to fill the void as there was last year. Let’s hold hands in prayer as MTV’S Video Music Awards airs from Madison  Square Garden Sunday 8/28 at 9pm est. with the Pre-show hosted by DJ Khaled slated to begin at 8pm est.
